The wet alarm valve is a core component of the wet automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing system. Here is a brief introduction:
- Function: In the wet automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing system, the wet alarm valve mainly serves to connect or cut off the water source, activate the system, and send out an alarm signal. It can spray water to extinguish the fire in a timely manner and alert the personnel when a fire breaks out.
- Working Principle: Normally, the water pressure above and below the valve disc is balanced, and the valve disc is closed. When a fire occurs and the sprinkler head sprays water, the pressure on the system side drops. The pressure on the water supply side causes the valve disc to open, and water flows into the system side pipeline network to extinguish the fire. At the same time, part of the water drives the hydraulic alarm bell and pressure switch through the alarm pipeline to send out an alarm and start the fire pump.
- Structure: It is mainly composed of the valve body, valve disc assembly, alarm pipeline interface, retarder, hydraulic alarm bell, pressure switch, etc.
- Appearance: Usually made of metal materials, it is generally cylindrical or in a similar shape as a whole, with multiple connection ports, which are respectively used to connect the water source, the system pipeline network, and the alarm device, etc.
- Installation Location: Generally installed in the fire pump room or a dedicated equipment room on the ground floor of the building, and it needs to be installed vertically.
- Importance: It is a key component to ensure the reliable operation of the wet automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing system. Its performance is directly related to whether the system can effectively play the functions of fire extinguishing and alarming in a timely manner when a fire occurs, which is of vital importance for protecting lives and property.
